Heartland Community Action served 12,149 people and 4,164 households in the four county service area. In 2009, Heartland Community Action helped:
- 88 unemployed individuals obtain a job.
- 1,231 senior citizens receive housing weatherization or energy assistance.
- 90 homes have a 15%-18% reduction in energy consumption resulting from weatherization services.
- 35 households received a reliable, donated vehicle in order to obtain or maintain permanent employment.
- 44 households purchase homes.
- 154 households with motel vouchers for a warm nights stay.
- 325 households stabilize their housing.
- 392 pre-school children increased math and literacy skills in preparation for kindergarten.
- 443 adults learn and exhibit improved parenting skills.
- 1,170 volunteers provided over 20,000 hours of service to Heartland Community Action Agency’s Programs
